Body and Mind: The Role of Emotions in Wellness

Have you ever thought about the role that emotions play in promoting or limiting wellness?

Sounds weird, right? How can my state of mind make me ill or stop me from living to my best potential? If you see your body as the rings in a tree stump, every event that ever happened to you is recorded. Your body is your history.

It then stands to reason that fear felt as a child and not expressed is embedded somewhere in that time line. A pattern of suppressed anger is negative energy that becomes toxic if stored over the years.

BodyTalk works around six basic emotions: Anger, Fear, Grief, Worry and Joy/Sadness and all the shades in-between. I'd also like to highlight Guilt and Resentment as having a major impact on wellness.

If this emotional scale tilts to either excess or deficiency, that particular emotion has the power to disrupt the functioning of our bodies. How is this possible?

Every organ, endocrine and body part has an emotion associated with it. For example, the stomach and worry. A child might complain about a sore tummy when they have to go to school. The chances are good that there is something in that environment worrying them greatly and is perhaps worthy of investigation.

Often we are unaware of emotional trauma stored within our bodies. Perhaps it was something we experienced as a child and we were unable to identify what we felt or weren't allowed to express it.

Other times, we think we have dealt with an emotion (such as grief) but it is still present, buried deep and creating a feeling of weakness and instability within us.

BodyTalk balances and releases old emotions for you. It allows your body to function optimally, to bring the blocks to your awareness, process them and let them go.
